Simutrans and Simutrans Reference Material Project
Simutrans is a transport simulation originally written by Hansjörg Malthaner and currently
maintained by the Simutrans Team.
The Simutrans Reference Material Project (SRM) is a related Project that was started by Ormac. This project offers User Manuals for the the Simutrans program.
These User Manuals provide the user with information about the features of Simutrans

The Starter Guide began in July 2005. Originally known then as The Simutrans Quick Guide,
it was 12 pages in length. Renamed The Simutrans Starter Guide, it was restructured and
released as 2.00. With the Third Edition (3.x) introduces users to the current version of Simutrans
while showing developments Simutrans has made

- Provide an introduction for new users about the interface and operation of Simutrans
- Provide some simple details how users can enhance their Simutrans experience though city lists, add-ons, or custom maps
- Explain some of the specific Simutrans concepts and terminology

The Reference Manual
Heritage
The Simutrans Reference Manual was the natural evolution of the Starter Guide.
The Reference Manual was started in October 2005 with the release of 1.00. The Reference Manual
2.01 was released July 2006 after undergoing a restructure matching the Starter Guide. The
Third Edition (3.00) was first released 30 June 2007. The Reference Manual still recieves
constant revision.
Intention
The Simutrans Reference Manual intends to present more information to the user about
Simutrans than the Starter Guide:
- Provide a full description of how to operate Simutrans
- List the costs associated with infrastructure
- Illustrate some of the later versions of Simutrans
- Provide regular updates

Ormac is head of the SRM Team as well as the author of the
Reference Material Available on this site.
He started providing the Simutrans Community with the Starter Guide and
the Reference Manual since July
2005 (with an SRM Team of one). Over that time he has received

SRM Team Position: SRM Website Graphic Artist, SRM Translator [Spanish]
Vilvoh was the first translator of the Simutrans Reference Material. Translating the Starter Guide into Spanish.
Vilvoh has also proved his ability as a web artist and developer doing much of the work to present you with this Third Edition of the website.

Joker provided the Title Page Illustration for both the Second and Third Editions of Ormacs Simutrans
